Ours Industrial Complex is an integrated project at Ras Az Zawr. A segment
of the site is used for Ma’aden Aluminium Company and another segment for
Ma’aden Phosphate Company.
Under Aluminium Project, bauxite ore transported by rail from Al-Baitha Mine to
Ras Az Zawr will be refined to produce alumina which in turn will be processed
in the smelter on the site to produce pure Aluminium of premium quality. It will
have capacity to produce 740,000 MTPY of Aluminium. Approximately 400,000 Tones
of Aluminium will be feed to Rolling Mill to form end products like Aluminium
Sheets, Tins, and Canes etc... And remaining Quantity will be exported. The
Aluminium Industry is being built up with an investment of US $ 8 billion is one
of the biggest projects ever taken in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Under Phosphate Project, phosphate ores transported by rail from the Al Jalamid
Beneficiation Plant to Ras Az Zawr will be processed to yield chemicals and
fertilizers. It comprises of a phosphoric acid plant, a sulphuric acid plant, an
ammonia plant, a DAP granulation plant, a co-generation plant, desalination
plant and other infrastructure. |
